Architecture of Wellbeing Tour De Docks Bike Ride

An event to get outside for the morning and see Liverpool from your bike. A 14 mile overall route with a stop half way.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own bike?

Yes, please bring your own bike and helmet and any other equipment. There are local bike hire companies in the city.

Do I need a helmet?

Yes, you are attending this event at your own risk.

Can families attend?

Yes everyone is welcome. We ask that under 18s are accompanied with a parent or legal guardian.

Will there be stops?

The route is from Otterspool Promenade down through to Albert Dock where we will pick up the bike paths in front of the three graces and down towards Bramley Moore Dock. We will stop within the Ten Streets area for a drink and a rest before returning to Otterspool Promenade.

How Long is the bike ride?

The route in total is around 14 miles. 7 miles to Bramley Moore Dock and 7 miles back. This may take between 35minutes

Cycle Tour: South Liverpool

Miles Pearson from Pearson Architects and Ben Prince from Prince Architects will be leading an 7 mile architecture cycle tour around South Liverpool. As well as cycling, there will be an opportunity to go inside many of the buildings along the way.

The route will include:

  • Press Bros Coffee, Lark Lane

  • Granby Winter Gardrens - (Building Tour)

  • The Granby Triangle district

  • Granby Ceramics & Aspen Yard - (Building Tour)

  • Welsh Streets

  • Squash Nutrition for drinks

  • Toxteth Resevoir - (Building Tour)

  • Palm House, Sefton Park

Once the tour is ended, you are welcome to continue onto the Watering Can in Greenbank Park, or the Dovedale Pub for refreshments.

Additional Information:

Please be aware that this is a relatively long cycle ride whith anticipated at least 60mins of the 2 hours will be cycling. The route is approx. 7 miles long. The tour is designed to be at a leisurely pace, therefore should be appropriate to cyclist of all abilities.

Although some of the route is made up of parks and cycle lanes, attendees should be comfortable with riding on main roads.


Please wear appropriate clothing, footwear and a bike helmet!

We also recommend bringing a suitable bike lock for use during the building tours.


All attendees must have their own bike to be able to participate.

Guided cycle tour around the Neighbourhoods of Baltic and Liverpool City Centre

Miles Pearson from Pearson Architects and Ben Prince from Prince Architects will be leading a 4 mile architecture cycle tour around the Baltic and Liverpool City Centre. As well as cycling, there will be an opportunity to go inside many of the buildings along the way.

The route will include:

  • Baltic Triangle District

  • China Town

  • The Georgian Quarter & Hope Street

  • University of Liverpool - School of Architecture

  • Univeristy District

  • The Royal Court

  • Liverpool One

  • The Bluecoat

  • Black Lodge Brewery
